CAMP GALHAN - Languedoc

A family tradition from generation to generation over the centuries...
The Pourquier family settled at Ribaute les Tavernes in 1883.
CAMP GALHAN is nowadays recognised locally as one of the most qualitative estates.
The wines regularly win awards and have been featured in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.

The vineyard is situated in the heart of  Duché d'Uzès on the high slopes above the Gardon River.
This hot atypical terroir composed of  galets roulés on limestone and clay allows grapes to ripen fully, retaining full aromatic potential under the influence of the Cevennes mountains(hills) which creates the huge temperature difference between day and night.

At this best vineyard site, Lionel Pourquier, the current winemaker and co-owner with Alain, built the innovative three-storey, gravity flow cellar in 2000 to handle the wine gently by gravity without pumping.
